The Mission of Arcata House Partnership is to support people experiencing homelessness while they build a more stable life. This may include a full continuum of services from engagement to permanent housing. The further mission is to educate the community about housing issues and advocate on behalf of our homeless neighbors.
Permanent supportive housing provides immediate housing to those who are chronically homeless and disabled. AHP currently operates two programs, Apartment's First! and the Susie Van Kirk (SVK) House.
We offer two separate shelter programs: an Adult Shelter and a Family Shelter. The Adult Shelter serves adults over 18 in communal/dorm housing, and the Family Shelter serves any family with children in communal housing facilities in Arcata.
The CalFresh Outreach program distributes free lunches, information, and referrals for CalFresh five days a week. The Outreach Program serves homeless and very low-income people at locations in both Arcata and Manila.
