Spring Into Action!

This spring, we’re growing more than just a garden - we’re growing hope! 

Join Arcata House Partnership for our special Spring Donation Day on April 25th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We look forward to welcoming you to the Annex One-Stop, located at 501 9th Street in the heart of downtown Arcata.

As we transition into spring, Humboldt’s weather remains unpredictable and damp. To ensure our neighbors stay warm and dry, we are seeking donations of rain gear, blankets, and weatherproof jackets. We also have an ongoing need for new socks and underwear (all genders), as well as men’s shirts, jackets, and pants in larger sizes.

This season, we are also thrilled to launch a new community garden initiative. By donating seeds, bulbs, plant starts or gardening tools, you are helping us literally "feed the need" with fresh, local produce. For those who have experienced the trauma of homelessness, gardening can act as a form of therapy and can help improve overall mood and well-being.  Gardening can also help cultivate a sense of purpose and community within the shelter, providing a sense of accomplishment that can significantly boost self-esteem.

Finally, you can help the youngest members of our community thrive. The children in our family shelter are in need of building blocks, creative toys, and educational play items to brighten their spring. We need your help expanding their creative play during their stay with us.
